How to wear headbands
Headbands are a BIG vibe this season and they can look so dang cute or glam but lots of people don't know what to do with them!
Courtney gave us a hair tutorial for some big blow out waves that look PERFECT with a cute little headband in the video below but here are some other great tips for hair and headband styling that'll have you wanting to dress up for yo'self!
Straight and sleek
Simple yet oh so effective! The straight hair/headband combo has been a winner for decades but never has it looked more on trend or fashion forward. Give it a go but drying and straightening your hair, parting in the centre or off to the side and sliding a fabulous headband on!
We love a traditional headband with some big volume for this look like the Morgan and Taylor Shayla Headband, Armelle Turban Headband or the Camilla Swinging Sixties Bow Headband.
Big glam curls or waves
Courtney is LOVING her big glam waves at the moment and the perfect glam accessory is a headband.
Big glam curls can be achieved a few ways (like using a large barrel curler and lightly brushing out once cool and spritzing with some hairspray but you can also jump on the blowdry train and give your hair a slight break from 230 degree plus heat styling by using a barrel blowout tool (the non-barrel tools WILL NOT work for this. Courtney made the mistake of buying one of those first and being bitterly disappointed it didn't curl! But they do give you a salon style blow out so it won't go to waste. However, for the curls, it was a 32mm barrel blow out tool that got the goods! Courtney swears by the Silver Bullet Genisis Hot Air Brush in 32mm!)
Check out Courtney's video here to see how easy this tool is to use and the great big bouncy curls it can give you - even with limited experience!
Pushed back or seated among the big waves, Courtney was STOKED with the final look.
And to finish off this look we recommend a big glam headband like the Morgan and Taylor Nikki, Kiana or Shayla, or one of the turban knot headbands!
Slicked back
A bold look and so damn fun. We recommend this with a figure hugging midi dress and a big bold lip!
This look is super easy to achieve. For a really polished look we recommend straightening and then using any heavy product you have to slick back the top half of your hair (gel or a hair oil will work and if you have none of those, baby oil works a treat! Just don't over do it. Start slow and stop once you achieve the desired look!).
The slicked back look is a winner with all of the high volume/padded headbands or the crown style headbands like the Morgan and Taylor Crystal Headpiece or Kitte pieces.

Crowning a bun
We also love the Morgan and Taylor Crystal Headpiece and Kitte headpieces for crowning an up bun. Big and sleek or low, messy and lived in, the crystal headpiece crowns it beautifully. For a more casual look we recommend a Camilla woven twist headband or one of the Morgan and Taylor tuban knot headbands.
Boho chic
Nothing screams boho chic more than a headwrap style headband. These headbands make that boho look so easy for you! We recommend big waves or a messy bun to complete your boho look.
